F\u00fcr das Jahr 2026 hat die Deutsche Wildtierstiftung lauter Vertreter der Offenlandschaften zur Wahl des \u201eTieres des Jahres\u201c nominiert. Gew\u00e4hlt wurde schlie\u00dflich der Rothirsch. Er ist das gr\u00f6\u00dfte wildlebende Lands\u00e4ugetier in unserem Land und vor allem im Wald anzutreffen.<\/p>\n

Doch was wenige wissen: Biologisch gesehen ist er kein typisches Waldtier, sondern ein Bewohner des Offenlandes. Schon allein durch seine Lebensweise im Rudel und den hohen Nahrungsbedarf ist er auf gro\u00dfe, zusammenh\u00e4ngende Lebensr\u00e4ume angewiesen. St\u00f6rungen, intensive Bejagung und die zunehmende Zerschneidung der Landschaft haben das Rotwild im Laufe der Zeit fast \u00fcberall in die W\u00e4lder gedr\u00e4ngt.<\/p>\n
